Obviously Jr has looked good and Johnson is always there at the end, but betting 2 favorites in the 500 is playing with fire. There is very little return on investment. Ive had a rule for 5 years in Nascar that I would not bet someone at 4-1 and lower! They are racing 41 other drivers! Its not a heads up competition like every other sports. The 500 is always a crapshoot on the last laps, and it is all determined on who gets the draft help. Im taking longshots at 15-1+ to have something to root for!
Be careful betting this year on Nascar. All track history can be thrown out the window b/c these cars drive so differently. Toyotas can make a serious run. Best off just taking the hot team/driver

Kyle Busch 14-1 (Aggresive driver...will either crash or finish top 3)
Mears 28-1 (How do you not take a Hendrick car at 28-1???)
Newman 24-1 (darkhorse)
Truex 18-1 (A great restrictor plate racer and has drafting respect)
Kurt Busch 12-1 (Im weary of taking a Dodge b/c they havent shown much so far in testing, but Kurt may be the most UNDERRATED restrictor plate racer)
Stewart 6-1 (I break even if the bad boy of Nascar wins)

I'diek to throw a few bucks on the race today, but it basically is a "house always wins" day. The odds are no where near close to what they should be for any driver..............so you're at a big $ disadvantage. Nice if you win, but even then you're not getting a decent payout. Study the sheet and the odds and it will become obvious. That being said, a serious GL to all of you, hope you cash.
